ANTIQUE 1800's OAK EXTENDABLE COMPLETE DINING ROOM SUITE SIDE BOARD CHINA CABINET SERVER 6 HIGH BACK CHAIRS 2 LEAVES This Suite represents a magnificent example of Incomparable Old World Craftsmanship. A Complete Dining Room Suite Is a Rare Find. It Dates to circa 1840's - 1870's. Upon obtaining this Complete Suite I was advised that it came from a Castle in Europe. Whether that is true are not I do not know, however the couple I obtained it from were of Royalty. Therefore, there is more than some credence to their statements to me and I had no reason whatsoever to doubt what they told me as being true. OAK EXPANDABLE DINING TABLE The Oak Expandable Dining Table could possibly be Tiger Oak I’m not sure. It has a beautiful grain to it that is unusual. The Table extends with the addition of 2 leaves that are included. I may have 2 additional leaves for a total of 4, I just have to locate them. IF I find them they will be included. The table is supported by beautiful Decorative fluted columns. The Complete Suite includes 6 high back chairs that have been recently upholstered with a beautiful tapestry type covering. CHINA CABINET The photos show the exquisite craftsmanship regarding the carvings and design’s. It appears that this also may be constructed of Tiger Oak, I’m not sure. It does have that look. JUST FOR YOUR INFORMATION, THE PHOTOGRAPH SHOWS EXQUISITE, ACTUALLY GOLD PLATED AND/OR INLAID, I’M NOT SURE WHICH, CHINAWARE AND DRINKING GLASSES AND COFFEE CUPS, STERLING SILVER, CRYSTAL, ETC.. SIDE BOARD The photos also show the extensive exquisite carvings on the Side Board. This again is a Wonderful and Beautiful Example of Old World Craftsmanship. Also on the Side Panel it appears to be Tiger Oak. Again, I’m not certain, however it sure does look like Tiger Oak to me. This Side Board, as well as the other members of this suite, or in excellent original condition. There are 3 top drawers and below 3 cabinet spaces. Those cabinet spaces have key entry and the key mechanism is operational. You will notice the middle lower cabinet face has 2 hinges at the bottom. That cabinet face folds down for entry into that area. The 2 side lower cabinets swing out to the sides. SERVER Exquisite carvings and details with fluted columns. The photograph does show shaded and/or faded areas that can be easily remedied and restored. As stated earlier this Suite is in original condition which clearly shows its unique character and the fact that it has been utilized. There are 2 drawers that pullout and function properly. The hardware is original and is in great condition. ANTIQUES For the length of time that this suite has been in existence and moved there are minor flaws that can be easily corrected. It is in original condition and a complete restoration to like new condition is very doable, if you so desire. Please contact me directly to discuss any restoration costs. However, please keep in mind that antique furniture should be purchased for its uniqueness, higher quality material and craftsmanship and antique patina, charm and character….and NOT for like-new condition!!! And of course, purchasing antiques are an investment since they always increase in value.
