ANTIQUE 1920’S 2 PC MEN’S BLACK SUIT W TAILS & BRAID ON PANTS
DATING TO THE 1920’S
FASHIONED OF BLACK WOOL AND WAS ACQUIRED FROM A MUSEUM DEACCESSION.
JACKET HAS SATIN TRIMMED COLLAR WITH SATIN COVERED BUTTONS ON EACH SIDE OF THE FRONT, TRIPLE BUTTONS ON EACH CUFF AND A PAIR OF BUTTONS AT THE TOP OF THE VENTED TAIL.
VENTED TAIL HAS POCKETS HIDDEN ON EACH UNDER SIDE. THE INTERIOR IS LINED IN BLACK SILK IN THE BODY WITH A WHITE SILK ON THE INNER SLEEVES AND POCKETS ARE ON EACH SIDE.
HANGING LOOP INSIDE READS BART MORIARTI. THE PANTS BUTTON CLOSED IN THE FRONT WITH A LACQUERED BUTTON ON THE TOP AND BUTTONS ON THE TOP EDGE FOR ADDING SUSPENDERS. WATCH POCKET IS JUST BENEATH THE WAISTBAND, NO SIDE POCKETS WITH POCKETS ON EACH SIDE OF THE SEAT. A FINE BRAID TRIMS THE OUTER LEG. INTERIOR WAISTLINE IS LINED IN COTTON WITH SILK ON THE WAISTBAND EDGE. CONDITION: A MILD AMOUNT OF UNDERARM DISCOLORATION THAT IS SEEN ON THE EXTERIOR, NOT READILY NOTED WHEN WORN BUT WHEN STUDIED IN LIGHT IT IS APPARENT. SMALL STAINING TO THE LINING OF THE UNDERARMS WITH THE RIGHT ONE BEGINNING TO SHOW BREAKAGE. A WONDERFUL AND WEARABLE 1920
