' replica line:
We are happy to offer a very accurate, high quality, replica Apollo / Artemis Spacesuit Chest fitting.
This style of spacesuit umbilical disconnect, for Oxygen in & out and Coolant loop, were first used on the NASA Gemini missions, then used on Apollo, and are in fact, still being used on the new Artemis launch / entry, or IVA suit.
Over the years, these have been anodized in; Light blue, Red and Royal Blue (this version)
. There were also variations of this type, a taller version and a shorter version. This is the shorter version. (See our other auctions for other replica O2 fittings and spacesuit hardware)
Our replicas are machined in 6061 aircraft aluminum and have been polished and anodized to the correct Mil-Spec Royal blue color. (Note: Some surviving suits do suffer from color fading)
They are nearly Identical in size of the real fittings on the A7L & A7Lb Space suits, but have a simplified "snap in" Delrin plastic tab system, that allows the hose fittings to be securely snapped in. These allow free rotation of the hoses. The gold anodized locking button & locking tabs have no function.
Produced by our partner, Global Effects Inc., these rings were originally produced during the Production of "First Man", and this style of disconnects have been used on most of their highest quality space suit replicas.
Each Set Includes
1 - Blue O2 chest mounted fitting (Can also be used for Cooling loop fitting) (1-Gold lock button, 2 Gold Lock tabs)
1 - Black Delrin "fingered" snap insert
These are extremely limited art pieces.
We currently only have 10 of these on hand.
