In the extremely rare event I cannot get this title to work on your system I will take it back for a full refund. All I ask is minimal assistance from you during the troubleshooting process. The Game I have been a fan of the Leisure Suit Larry series ever since I played the first chapter, Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, in glorious EGA on my Tandy 1000SX. I found the game to be
wholly original as well as very funny. After I finished I was a permanent fan of the entire series. And, out of all of the Leisure Suit Larry titles to date, my second favorite is Leisure Suit Larry 5: Passionate
Patti Does a Little Undercover Work. It has puts the series back on track after losing focus in Larry 2 and Larry 3. This chapter has a decent plot, lots of humor, nice looking graphics, and great music. It
also does not take itself too seriously, and the result is a laid-back adventure full of welcome detours. In a Nutshell: In this episode you alternate between playing Larry Laffer and his girlfriend Passionate Patti, who was introduced to us in Larry 3. The game has two plotlines: The first plot involves Larry being
hired by his new boss Silas Scruemall to videotape three girls who are auditioning to be on a show called America's Sexiest Home Videos. Larry has to fly to three cities: Miami, New York, and Atlantic City
to find and videotape these three beauties. The second plot has Patti being hired by the FBI to go undercover and investigate two criminals: Reverse Biaz and P.C. Hammer. Both men are illegally putting subliminal messages into music records.
Patti must complete her assignment by going on a hunt to find the criminal organization that employes these two slimeballs. Production: This game has great production values, especially for its time. The graphics were upgraded to 256 VGA, and Larry and his world were redesigned in a unique style. Larry sports a cartoonish geek look,
with great comic effectiveness. In the first episode Larry was more of a sleazy nightclub hopping barfly looking to score. In this chapter one cannot help but root for the likeable nerd. This game also sports an updated interface. A series of icons appear on the top of the screen when the mouse icon moves into that zone. This allows you to perform actions such as walking, talking, and
moving objects. When the hand icon appears over an object or hotspot, it means you can interact with it. Similarly, the hand icon is used to take items. This next generation mouse-based interface is both
effective and user-friendly. The game features original score by Hollywood composer Craig Safan, whose credits include the Cheers TV show and The Last Starfighter. It also features hand-painted digitized graphics and a no-
typing grope and click interface for quick-feel, one-hand action scoring. The intended effect works -- Larry now appears more modern, angular, and artistic. Larry 5 is the first game to make use of the Bodily Function Keys , according to Al Lowe. "We added these about three days before we shipped because it was late at night, we were tired, we were
high on caffeine and pizza, we were all Letterman fans, it seemed like a good idea at the time, and we could." Gameplay As would be expected the game is rife with humor, as Larry travels to New York, Atlantic City, and Miami. My favorite stopover is Atlantic City where Larry tries to win big in Video Poker machine. Gambling
is integral to your success in Atlantic City because you must then use the money to buy a pair of roller skates, get into the theater to see a show, and participate in a mud wrestling match with one of the
girls. Adding more fun to the gameplay is the entertaining music soundtrack. My favorite song
is the one that Passionate Patti and Reverse Biaz practice together. It has a great beat
to it, even though it is FM synthesized. One of the highlights of this game is its neat interface. I believe icons are a fantastic way of interacting with the environment. The humor in the story is very good, and people who
love tongue-in-cheek humor will enjoy this title. But the best feature of the game has to be the huge improvement in graphics. The hand-painted environments and the design of all the characters in the
game are both wonderful. Kudos to the designers for making these great graphics! I think Larry 5 is one of the best installments in the series. It spots an engaging plot, stylistic graphics, and laugh out loud humor. I recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of Leisure Suit Larry as well
as anyone who has not played any games in this series. You will have a great time in front of your computer and laughing hard with our cult-hero of the computer age! Note: My compatibility CD does not alter the retail game or bypass copy protection. It allows the original media to install and run correctly on any recent version of Windows.
