A Prada suit from 2017. Made from tropical wool in a blend of wool and mohair.
I'm not sure if my photos did justice to the fabric. It's a navy that works with everything but has a luster from the mohair fabric that creates a really great sheen. The effect is like a sapphire blue.
Sleek silhouette, but lots of great stuff in the details. Quarter-lined back for breathability. Non-functional sleeve buttons for easy tailoring. Some nice reinforced stitching on some stress points.
I bought this suit a couple of years back. Unfortunately, the pants were too tight for me. I took it to my tailor in Manhattan who did her work on it, but I just couldn't get comfortable in them. My loss is your gain.
The current version of this suit from Prada retails for $4,000. Made in Italy.
The pants have been professionally hemmed to a 29.5-inch inseam. There's another 3 inches of fabric inside if you want to make it longer.
Aside from pants hemming, this suit has been professionally modified in two important ways.
One, the suit has been removed of all "shatnez." If you're unfamiliar, shatnez is a prohibition in Judaism not to mix wool and linen in fabrics. In this case, the lining of the jacket collar had linen in it. It was professionally replaced with an alternate lining. The original lining will be sent to you if you want to put it back, for whatever reason. It makes no practicable difference either way. There is now a tag on the interior of the suit jacket indicating it is shatnez-free, which you can see in the photos.
Two, as previously mentioned, I had the width of the pants tailored because they were too tight. Please pay attention to my measurements. You may also see some wear around the waist stress points. JACKET
