Chest measurements are arm-pit to arm-pit. Sleeve length is measured from shoulder seam to end of cuff. Should measurement is measured on the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. Just a little FYI. Generally speaking, the EU jacket size is 10 larger than the US jacket size.  So a 54 EU would mean 44 US. In this case, the suit is listed at a 54 and is made in Italy so, unless this is specifically made for the US market, you can assume it is a 44 US. Not applicable when only buying a jacket, but a consideration when buying a suit is that the "drop", which is the difference between the average adult US male's chest and waist is 6". So, if you measure a 50" chest, then the pants sold with the suit in the US (unless sold separately ) would be a 44" waist without alteration. Generally, the length is not given as it usually has several inches of extra fabric used to tailor the pants to your height. Check out my listings for other well-crafted items.
