Vintage 1950s Saks Fifth Avenue Dress Jacket Suit Sophie Gimbel Era

The label confirms it's a sensational suit from SFA although the timeline, elegance, impeccable tailoring and quality make it a strong possibility that Saks' designer Sophie Gimbel was in charge of this beauty. From its royal color to the simplified lines that are way more complicated than they appear, this is an ensemble of timeless, understated elegance. Jeweled accents, added asymmetrically to the jacket, take it from great to absolutely stunning. Sizewise, let's say contemporary 4 but please refer to waist and pit to pit measures of the dress. Condition is very nice with this point to note: the hem, where it's folded in on the underneath side, has a few small holes, npt visible on wearing. Also, in terms of color, it is true royal purple despite what camera and morning light would like to convey 🙃.
