1920 Flapper Walking Suit Jacket, black wool blend Gabardine w/the most stunning Art Deco geometric print Silk lining. Purchased at one if not THE oldest Pittsburgh Dept. store “Boggs & Buhl” which was begun in 1869 & closed in 1955. The jacket has swag “belts” at the sides of the waist & is adorned with beautiful Silk thread cord Embroidery which culminates in “arrows” at sides of waist & pointing upwards in two spots at center back. I lightened the last photo so you can see these details better. This linear embroidery runs up the sides of the jacket to the shoulders also. Volupt size, measures bust, waist & hip 46”, sleeve 22 1/4”, shoulder seam to seam 16”, length rear nape seam to hem 25”. The lining is impeccably hand stitched, there are weights sewn into the front of the jacket. This is an incredible piece in immaculate condition. No rips, holes, tears or stains, inside or out. Absolutely amazing for its 100 years .
