VTG 1952 VIVIAN LEE LADIES 2PC ORANGE BLACK VELVET 3/4SLEEVE SUIT 12*AS

AUTHENTIC VINTAGE 1950's VIVIAN LEE LADIES 2PC GOLDEN ORANGE AND BLACK VELVET / VELOUR OR FAUX SUEDE 3/4 SLEEVE SUIT - MARKED SIZE 12 FABRIC IS SOFT TO THE TOUCH This suit was purchased by my grandmother for her honeymoon in 1952.  She wore it to go into NYC on her wedding night where they stayed at The Plaza before leaving the next morning to drive down to Miami, Florida. The suit is a size 12 but size 12's were smaller back then. (see actual measurement below for sizing) She was 5'2" and weighed about 120 lbs. Time has taken a toll on the suit and there is 1 moth hole on the front near the 3rd and 4th buttons. there are also about 5 scattered moth nibbles nearby on that same left breast area. (see photos)  At the center of the right breast, there is a approx. 3/8" round stain plus another small stain next to it.  Also on the lower right near jacket hem here is a 2" by 1.5" stained area. (see circled areas in last 2 photos). The black velvet skirt was laundered incorrectly and the texture/sheen has changed and some repair work was done on the hook closure. The pearls, sequins and embroidery on the collar and cuffs are exquisite.  The suit is belted and has shoulder pads.  The jacket is partially lined. It is sold "as is" and is priced to sell. Length of jacket (from shoulder to hem): 22” Sleeve Length: 18.5” Shoulder width 15” measuring straight across back. Chest Width measuring just below armpits of top, lying garment flat: 18" so should fit up to 36" bust. SKIRT LENGTH 29.5".  NON-STRETCH WAIST APPROX 26". HIPS OF UP TO ABOUT 38".
