Vintage Tweed 1970s Hart Schaffner & Marx Escadrille Wool Sport Coat. Wedding. 1940s. Prep. Toff. WW2. Boyfriend Jacket. Tolkien. Movie Set. A 1974 advertisement for the HSM Escadrille style suit stated that it is for the, "...alert and the adventurous," and that, "Not every man is an Escadrille man..." With roots dating back to 1887, Hart Schaffner and Marx created luxury suits during the Victorian era, as well as military uniforms for both World War I and World War II. The brand became synonymous with affordable midcentury luxury when worn exclusively by Johnny Carson. Own a piece of gorgeous fashion history, Circa 1974. Excellent vintage condition.
